         BCRO AUGUST  2023 Meeting

1.OFFICERS REPORTSTreasurer Report:  Randy Estess treasure report was accepted.  Randy will be the interim treasurer.  Voting will occur in December.  Secretary Report:   Accepted 
 2.OLD BUSINESSNet report:   Net lineup was reviewed.  Net Controls: 1.  Van Allen; 2.  Susan Walker; 3.  Steve Werner; 4. Pending; 5.  Pending.  A replacement net controller is being sought for the 4th and 5th Thursday of the month. A request has been made for a 5th Thursday Net controller.   Testing:   Continues the 3rd Saturday of the month at Cross Church in Springdale.  Preregister is made through Darryl Wagoner.  Email:  darryl@waggoner.me A request has been made for VE’s.   Website:  President Paul Blomgren will be managing the website for now.   A request has been made for a new Webmaster.   Storm Spotter Training 2023:   For more information:   https://www.weather.gov/tas/spotter_training      NWA Emergency Preparedness Fair:   No Preparedness Fair this year.   Emergency Operations Center:  NWA EmmComm is not a club, however, there are classes or courses about emergency communication management that may be of interest to BCRO.   EOC is only for those qualified and badged with Benton County also meets 3rd sat 2pm.  Address: 215 E. Center Ave, Bentonville, AR, 72712.  Phone: 479-271-1004.      Window Display: The display at Rogers Library is coming in October.  It is to draw the public interest to Amateur Radio.  Live demonstrations will allow the public to witness and possibly have “hands-on” experience with radio.   Interesting equipment is requested for the display. For more information:  Susan Walker,  sdw59@icloud.com Susan requests members to start bringing interesting amateur radio-related items for display starting at the September meeting.   EVENT:    Re-established “Education Programs” continued with  Paul Blomgren . Topic: Programming Radios By Computer: RT Systems and CHIRP System Consisted of an introductory level review of each Computer/Radio programming system; pros and cons of each, necessary equipment needed for programming and costs. Open discussion, Question/Answer time, a great event with many more topics in the future.   9-12-23  meeting will be at 7 pm, Rogers Public Library Community Room.   The 10-1-23 meeting will be at 7 pm also in the Rogers Public Library Community Room.
