EDUCATIONAL TALK

An impromptu discussion occurred that covered the owners of the Centerton site wanting to take down extra antennas.  Obtaining better pictures of the site and the antennas are desired.  Much discussion occurred about the new generator at the Centerton location.  It is a 15-kilowatt generator. It is installed and working great. The old generator is on-site and there is a desire to find a new owner. The site has a 500-gallon fuel tank which is thought to meet the needs of any situation.

The discussion evolved to cover various generators, some consisting of dual tanks with different fuel sources such as natural gall and propane.  Some units have WIFI connections which will inform designated individuals of unit status by phone app.

There was also the discussion of GMRS on local repeaters as being determined as illegal as determined by ARRL.  There is the potential for the GMRS to be removed.

On-line meetings are the 2nd Tuesday of the month available via BCRO website.
