         BCRO FEBUARY  2024 Meeting

Date :   February 13th, 2024

Time: 7pm – 8:45 pm

Location:    On-line meeting due to hazardous weather

Purpose:   Monthly meeting:  group meeting & continued planning for activities

OFFICERS REPORTS

Treasurer Report:  Treasure Randy Estess’s treasure’s report was voted upon and accepted unanimously.  Secretary Report:   Secretary Susan Walker, Minutes voted and accepted unanimously.

 2.

OLD BUSINESS

Repeater Report:  Steve Werner reports repeaters still need attending. Randy Estess requests to accompany Steve the next time Steve goes to the repeaters.  Minor repairs can be done.  Club is still waiting on new owner’s full disclosure of the club’s status.  New owners have been to the repeater site and changed some locks.

BUSINESS

Net report:   Net lineup was reviewed.  Net Controls: 1.  Van Allen; 2.  Susan Walker; 3.  Steve Werner; 4. Lisa Johnson; 5.  Lisa Johnson

 

Lisa Johnson got assistance setting up her station.  Help is being provided.  Options for Lisa’s station are being discussed.            

Net Controllers to please publicize that BCRO meetings can be attended virtually via the BCRO website.   Thank you to everyone for helping.  Thank you to Lisa. 

 

Testing:   Testing continues the 3rd Saturday of the month at Cross Church in Springdale.  Preregister is made through Darryl Wagoner.  Email:  darryl@waggoner.me             A request for VE’s is ongoing.

 

Website:  Currently, Van Allen is assisting with the website and doing a great job.  Web ideas continue to be discussed.

 

Window Display:  Display at Rogers Library is scheduled for May 2024.  It is to draw the public interest to Amateur Radio. Theme not yet determined.  Ideas requested. Please speak to Susan, Secretary.

 

FUTURE EVENTS: 

“Amateur Radio Open House”, declined for the time being. 

Hogeye Marathon and Relays are being considered.  Liaison is Rick Pope. 

Dress for Success Runs:  Tour De Taco and Tour De BBQ.   Event has been declined because event already has everything they need. 

 

EDUCTIONAL TALK:  Steve Werner presented:  BALUNS, UNANS AND CHOKES. 

 

NEWS:

 

Alan Katz’s memorial on Saturday, March 23 … the memorial will begin at 1500 at Whistling Springs, not 1300 as was previously planned, although people are encouraged to arrive early to eat, drink and secure a seat/table. Whistling Springs will open at 1100 on that day. Military honors will commence at 1700 at Whistling Springs.”

 

Cornell Miles, Jr  (KF5YPC) wife passed away.  Services were in St. Roberts, MO

 

 

3-12-2024  meeting will be at 7pm also in the Rogers Public Library Community Room.
